Former Home Depot employee Jaime Garman explains how to get hidden discounts

For all the DIY experts, garden pros, or interior design enthusiasts, The Home Depot is mecca.

As you walk through the store’s huge aisles, you’re sure to end up bringing home things you didn’t really need.

A former Home Depot employee named Jaime Garman, who passes @jaime_the_craftery on TikTok, received over 200,000 views on a video that revealed a little-known fact about the store’s pricing.

She began:

“So I worked at Home Depot for about eight years. It’s not really a secret, but people don’t really know.

Although many of us have seen the “contractor discount” signs in the store, we never thought this would apply to us.

Apparently, however, he could.

“You don’t have to be a contractor to get contractor discounts.

“Any time you buy something in bulk – like if you redo a room and buy a bunch of sheets of plywood, or drywall, or screws – anything where you buy several of something, if you just go to the pro office or service office and ask for your order to be submitted to the auction house, they can submit it and get you a wholesale discount.

“Usually only entrepreneurs know about it, because they’re the ones who usually buy in bulk, but anyone can use it.”

The next time you’re about to tackle a room remodel or an exterior remodel, be sure to request the quote room to save some cash.

In the comments section, Jaime clarified that there is a minimum spend to get the discount: “I believe it’s $1,000 or $1,200. But you can add to the offer if you come back for more.

Viewers in the comments said it could also be done at Lowe’s, and some regretted not knowing about the hack sooner:

“Nooo! I just remodeled a whole house and never knew it,” one person wrote.

” It’s gold ! I am looking to do my floors in three rooms and the foyer…thanks,” added another.
